Ben, I have not used a flight school for any ratings or endorsements
before. So I wasn't sure what to expect when I scheduled ATP for my
Instrument Proficiency Check on 7/13/2010.

I was very favorably impressed with the whole experience. The
instructor, Josh Conillard (spelling may be incorrect) was a
pleasure to work with. He was professional, courteous and helpful
when it came to overcoming my experience deficiencies. He was
knowledgeable of the regulations and real-world flight skills
required to operate in the air space system today. Even though the
test was stressful, he made the experience a fun learning exercise.

The 172 we flew did not have a GPS w/moving map which is what I'm
used to flying. So my spatial orientation skills were challenged a
lot. But it was good to get back to basics and know I can still fly
with the 6-pack instruments.

I will be recommending the IPC test from ATP to my brother and son
and encouraging that they ask for Josh.
