Hello Jim,

My name is April Behnke. I have recently completed the Self Paced
Airline Career Pilot Program at ATP's Phoenix location. I would like to
provide a testimony of my experience with ATP. I moved to Arizona after
earning my associate's degree to pursue my dream of flying! I have been
living and working in Arizona on my own for two and a half years now,
making it essential to be a self-paced student. Although I didn't hear
about ATP until I moved to Arizona, of the many flight schools in the
Phoenix area, I am certain I made absolutely the right choice by
completing the ACPP at ATP.

I began my training in May of 2009 as a student pilot in the Private
Pilot program. While working full-time as a quality inspector, I was
able to earn my Private Pilot certificate in two months. It was easy for
me to stay motivated during my Private Pilot training since ATP creates
an environment of support and helpfulness. Dave Tatone, the chief flight
instructor, as well as the other instructors set a high standard for
pilots in the program to establish a successful training atmosphere.

I later enrolled in the self-paced career pilot program in August of
2009. Throughout the program, I had some difficulty balancing work and
training at times. Although I encountered some personal challenges, I
experienced nothing but encouragement and support from the instructors
at Phoenix, particularly Jamal Muhammad, Sean Kimura, and Dave Tatone.
Then, in early February of 2010, I finished the program with the
confidence of a commercial pilot. However, the biggest challenge and
greatest learning experience came from the CFI course in Las Vegas. I am
happy to say I finished the course strong and eagerly ready to begin my
aviation career as a flight instructor!

Most of my training was conducted with Rob Lind, Jamal Muhammad and Sean
Kimura. I also had the gratification of working with Jeremy LaRoche,
Jeremy Hale, Joseph Milazzo, Jocelyn Mckeon, Christopher Schaffer, Logan
Oscarson, Trent Cracraft, Nathan Mcclung, Frank Varcilona, Micheal
Caronia, and Taylor DeVane. Throughout my Career Pilot training, I have
witnessed nothing but professionalism, politeness, and dedication to the
success of each individual student from these instructors.

My training at ATP Phoenix has been an overall positive experience. I
would like to thank the staff in Jacksonville as well as the
instructors, staff and maintenance personal in Phoenix. Most
importantly, I'd like to thank Jamal, for his patience and support;
Sean, for his optimism and encouragement; and Dave, for his genuine
concern for the well-being and success of all who train at the Phoenix
location! These three individuals are hands down an inspiration. I
aspire to emulate them throughout my career as a flight instructor, not
only as pilots but also as people!

Training with ATP has been a great experience, a great challenge, and
has amplified my passion and love for flying. I could not imagine my
life without a career in aviation. I owe my success and growth as a
pilot to the great example ATP sets in the flight training industry.
